My Jeeps I recently installed 2 kicker comp 10″ in my 98 jeep cherokee. I purchased an 8 guage wiring kit along with my subs. It came with power wire, ground, speaker wire, fuse, and remote wire. You connect the power wire to the positive of the battery and then make sure your fuse is within 18inches of the battery. Then i ran the power wire through the firewall and down the driver side floor panel to the rear of my car. If you have a upgraded head-unit with rca pre-amp outputs you just connect your RCA’s and follow the same path as your wiring. Theres a blue wire in your wiring harness behind the head-unit. Once you have you RCA’s, Power wire, and Remote wire ran all the way to the back you need to work on the ground.

How to Wire an Amp to a Sub and Head Unit A sub woofer or two in a vehicle can make the world of difference in listening to music. It is very important to match the RMS of your subs to your amp. You want an amp more powerful than your sub, because you don’t want your sub to clip. Clipping is the number one reason of bass distortion. Steps 1 Gather your equipment Amp, Subs, Stereo, and wiring.
If you’re using an after market head unit, go to an electronics store’s stereo department and ask for a wiring harness from your car to the after market head unit. If you have a Chevy and a Sony stereo go to them and tell them you need a Chevy to Sony wiring harness, they will ask you the year of the vehicle and then go pick it off the shelf, these are usually by the install department behind the counter. Figure out where you’re going to place the amp, put the beginning of your power red wire there and give it about a foot of wire extra, then begin to hide and run the power wire to under the hood.
Run the power wire through the firewall. If you need to drill a hole in the fire wall, be careful not to hit anything on the other side and be sure the drilled hole will not cut through your power line. Electrical tape at the entry point will give the wire added protection.
How to hook up a car sub in a home theater
Personally, I am very pleased with it but I may not be the best judge because my speakers are old and, to be honest, not of the highest quality, so I needed an amp with tone controls, a loudness option and an output of at least 80 watts per channel. The original AS was an award winner and this new version is identical except for the inclusion of digital inputs. It has plenty of power. Be aware that some listeners find this amp on the bright side.

I have a much better understanding of ohm cooking. I have two combo amps. One is a Fender Superchamp X2. The one speaker out jack that the internal speaker is connected to says Minimum 8 ohms. The other amp is a Vox AC10 with a speaker out jack of 16 ohm. I found the Bugera TS On the back it has a 4ohm mono jack and a 16ohm mono jack.
my subs wont work.. theres power on the amp
An avid camper and erstwhile Boy Scout, I was amazed at how many things I could do with this well-made, pocket-size wonder. I used its tweezers to remove splinters and ticks, its scissors to cut thread, its can opener to prize open tins of baked beans, and its knife blade to whittle, occasionally cut myself, and generally wreak teenage mayhem. As I grew older, I discovered that using specialized tools for a given job was generally easier, faster, and more pleasurable than using my Swiss Army knife’s utilities.
Though I could cut a tent’s ground cloth with my knife’s scissors, a plain-Jane pair of Fiskars worked much better, an OXO can opener got me into those baked beans much faster than my Victorinox could, and even my Swiss Army knife blade didn’t stay as sharp or fit in my hand as well as a simple Buck knife.
Speaker A and B are each rated at 25 watts. Speaker A=8ohms and speaker B=4ohms. A total of 50 watts is delivered to the circuit. In this example the 8ohms speaker will be asked to dissipate about 33 watts, while the 4ohm speaker will need to dissipate only 16 watts or so.
Never fear, for the intrepid do-it-yourselfer, it is totally possible to use your car audio subwoofer in a home theater setup. The most important thing to be wary of is electricity requirements, because the car subwoofer is designed to run on considerably lower voltage than you have running through the wires at home. Keeping that in mind, check out this handy guide to find out how to do it yourself. You need one that can convert 12 volts, with two different plugs: Remember, though, that even though purchasing the inverter is your first step, actually plugging it in will be the last!
Connect the wires to your subwoofer and the care amplifier. You can connect them to the brackets underneath the terminals on each appliance. Remember to twist red wires with red wires, and black wires with black wires.

Even in a large room, you’ll be amazed at how much sound a single SUB is capable of producing. I had one sub but it was not enough for my large room so I added a second. During music playback I have no issue with this setup. Your system is rigged for fake 5. It does allow a surround pair for channels 4 and 5 though which I have a pair of play 3’s assigned for. However I have a play 5 in my room also directly behind where I sit and watch tv.

Audio If one subwoofer is good, are two or more subs even better? A lot of home theater experts believe in using multiple subwoofers, but can one really great subwoofer sound better than two or three merely good ones? Steve Guttenberg Subwoofers aren’t easy. Sure, adding a decent subwoofer to a system to supply more bass is no big deal, but getting the best possible sound out of a subwoofer is. Butterworth’s premise was simply this: Butterworth thinks that comparing different sized subs, even when they are made by the same manufacturer is nearly impossible, “Say you compared Brand X’s inch sub to four of its 8-inch subs.
Well, what if the driver in the incher kind of sucks? Or what if the engineers tuned the incher for tight bass while they tuned the 8-inchers for maximum output? Performance differences like these would make the results of a comparison meaningless. He’s designed and built his fair share of subs, so he has a lot of experience to draw on for making three subs that sound as similar as possible.
All three designs used the same watt power amplifier to drive the woofers. Butterworth knew he shouldn’t be the one to judge his handiwork, so he enlisted three experienced listeners, who did not know at any given time how many and which subs they were listening to. The “blind tests” eliminated any bias, and the panelists did not listen as a group.
how do i amp 4 speakers and sub do i need an amp for each
All you need to do to lower Imedence in a speaker is use less winds of a larger wire, you dont need the complications if have 2 seperat voice coils! Dual voice coils is what makes a sub a sub, otherwise it would just be a normal woofer. True that you dont get Stereo sound out of the Sub, but it maintains the 2 seperate signals so that they dont get mixed.
Boost your amp and subs, make sure you have a plug or lug terminal to on one of the side. Adapter to hook up amp to factory radio Is it is a factory stereo i don’t local dating numbers use one
The OC Shawn said: You’d either have to have an external crossover, or rely on one built into a modern sub. There are several things you may have to do. First you have to feed the crossover with the output of your Marantz. If it is a preamp, or has a preamp output, this is the output you want. A tape output is no good because you would lose the volume control of the Marantz as far as the subs are concerned. You want the volume control to control both the mains and the sub s.
A crossover will feed the amp for the main speakers but will cut out some of the low frequencies, so they are not duplicated with the sub’s output. It also cuts the highs out of the feed to the sub. If your Marantz has preamp outs and amp inputs, you will use the preamp output to feed the crossover, and take the crossovers high output and feed it back to the amps inputs.
If you are going to use just one sub, it gets a little more interesting, as that sub will sum the left and right feeds so the bass info from both channels will hit the sub.
